New work in progress...

This drawing that gave me great satisfaction is this pastel drawing of a mare and foal. This work is relatively large and is framed in 700x500 mm.

It is important before you start drawing that you provide a sufficient working area, provide yourself with a base of colors that you have chosen carefully, you also need pencil-blur in different sizes and a knead-gum.

After sketching the contours with an HB pencil. I start drawing and coloring; Caran D'ache, Derwent and Conté are used here as pencils.

Because the size of the paper for this is an A2 (420x594mm), I start working from the top, and work my way down to the bottom.

When coloring the fur, it is important that you draw in the direction of the hairs of the fur.

Finally, the grass is drawn and colored, taking care of the direction of the shadow.

Then the passe-partout is selected and cut on size. This beautiful pastel drawing is currently showing off in my living room.
