It is challenging to realistically capturing an image in a drawing. The perfect smile of a loved one or the curious look of a pet enveloped in pastel colors. Happiness lies in the simplicity of wonderful moments shared with family and friends, resulting in beautiful memories never to forget. Under the mantra "Beautiful moments should be captured" I hope to be able to give this happiness a special place in your heart and in you home.
My name is Sonja Van Waeyenbergh, I am a recognized artist and work with pastel, pan pastel and pencil.
Ever since I was a child I have always loved to draw and this still remains a passion for me.
For example, as a teenager I made beautiful oil paintings, but I have now specialized in realistically drawing people's faces and drawing animals, especially horses and dogs.
I start from a photo that I incorporate into a sketch as correctly as possible. The sketch is then carefully built up layer by layer to create the most realistic work possible, I get the best out of the photo.
Color knowledge is of great importance.
By using different techniques, depth and perspective are created, with the ultimate goal of creating an image that is as realistic as possible.
The final drawing is fixed and framed with a custom-made passe-partout.
The customer is then delivered personally, so that the work can be handed over in the best conditions.
I would also like to thank my fans, because thanks to the assignments entrusted to me, I continue to find better ways of working.
