I was able to capture these graceful draft horses after a photo shoot in Bertem.
There are more births at this time of year, you can tell by the number of foals that happily walk alongside the mare, where they feel safe and protected.
The great thing about these draft horses are the many colors that you find in the fur and mane. The different earth tones are combined with rust-like tones and highlighted with light gray and white colors.
I like to give individuality to my drawings by adding a story. Here you feel warmth and affection radiating. The techniques I use are recurring, my drawings are built up in several layers of pastel until I am satisfied with the result.
