A horse has something of elegance and shows a lot of finesse, especially when it wears a halter. This halter receives attention in this drawing, drawn with Panpastel and pastel pencils.
The color of this horse's coat is a base of ocher and earth tones. A color combination of Burnt Sienna extra dark, Burnt Sienna shade and Orange shade from Panpastel, becomes the basis of my first layer. A horse's coat consists of many small hairs. You can achieve this structure by drawing small hatched lines in lighter shades in the direction of the hairs of the coat. By using different colors you create a 3D effect. After I have drawn the halter with pencil, I choose my colors, for this I use a color palette of blue and gray tones, taking into account curves, light and shadow points. Metal accessories on the halter are given shades of French Gray and are highlighted with French light Gray and Titanium white.
After the halter has been drawn, the ears and neck are further finished with the same techniques as the fur on the forehead and muzzle.
It is important that points of light and shadows receive the necessary attention.
Pay attention to the shadow of the halter on the neck.
