After sketching the contours with an HB pencil, the eyes are drawn first.
I give the skin around the eyes, nose and mouth a first layer with PanPastel. On this layer I continue working with pastel pencils in different skin tones, after which I gently feather all colors with a feather, so that all colors flow together nicely.
To apply the PanPastel I use the palette-shaped holder with the matching tip-shaped sponges. I use Burnt Sienna 740.8 and Red Iron Oxide 380.8 as a base color for the skin.
The hug is drawn and colored with the same techniques as with a sheep, depths are first drawn with pastel and then highlighted with bright tones.
Finally, there is the hair, blonde hair is best displayed with Bister and Ocher shades, highlighted with Bismuth white from Caran D'ache.
For the sweater I first used the blue tones, then feathered the lighter parts with white from Pan Pastel. For example, I use Pan pastel not only as a base, but also to feather or mix colors.
