I get to draw beautiful pictures indeed, but sometimes the sharpness is a bit low, this became very clear when I enlarged and printed this picture of a girl with a horse, so I started with the face of the girl to see if she is certainly recognizable is. Important details of eyes, nose, mouth, shadows and highlights received extra attention. Once the face was well recognizable, I was sure that I could successfully complete this drawing. I work here on an A3 format with pencils HB and 2B.
Part of the nose and lower lip of the horse was also missing in the photo, so it is important that you have a small basic knowledge of the anatomy of the horse. All small details of the horse are first shaded with small lines with an HB pencil and then further drawn and finished with a B2 pencil.
A soft transition is achieved by feathering with a feather. Shading small lines makes it easier to feather, so you get a nicer transition of light and shadow.
