Pasteldrawing of a Himalayan cat

This pastel drawing is one for the cat lovers among us, a Himalayan cat with character, beautiful hair and a distinct look.

After sketching the contours and key points, such as eyes and nose, the eyes are getting the first colors. The eyes are a combination of yellow, ocher and green tones softly feathered with a fine feather from dark to lighter tones, creating a bulging effect.

The hair of the cat is a combination of green, brown, gray, pink, purple and beige shades. By mixing pink and purple in the hair you get a 3 D effect, just like highlighting the hair in the front with titanium white and feathering the underlying hair, you get a depth effect.

By using colors in the same shades of the drawing paper, you get the effect of the cat sitting on my drawing paper, making it stand out more.
