Always nice to be able to make a child's portrait, mischievous smiles and playful looks in the eyes are very expressive. This composition was made from 2 photos, the arrangement does not always have to be as in the photo. Here I chose to draw the youngest of the three brothers in the middle. It is important that the direction of light is the same in the photos.
As with most portraits, I use an HB pencil to sketch and a B2 pencil to render shadows and depths. The hair are small lines that I shade and where I usually turn my drawing sheet in a different direction or upside down, which makes drawing the hair easier.
I partially drew and feathered the clothes of the children, so that the transitions flow smoothly into each other without too much depth, but just show a few small details. After all, it's the faces that matter.
