This Chi-Spaniel, a cross between a Chihuahua and a Cocker Spaniel, was adopted and has found a beautiful home. Bo is sweet, small and very family-like, the look in his eyes immediately captured my heart.
Because Bo is a little older, you can often tell by the slight blue glow in the dog's eyes.
I decided to give the eyes a natural color, which immediately makes the animal younger. After drawing the contours, the eyes are given a base color of raw amber, with old pink and French light gray you create a 3D effect. The pupil is drawn in black and shadows are filled in with brown tones.
I create the base of the coat with different colors of Pan Pastel, which I apply with a palette-shaped holder with the accompanying sponges. Shadows and highlights are colored with pastel pencils, taking into account the direction of the hairs of the fur.
Tip: use a different sponge for each PanPastel color to avoid unsavory colors.
Deeper parts of the coat are gently feathered to create depth.
Small lines are hatched in the coat in different ocher and rust shades.
And finally the coat is lightened with Titanium white.
